Pro Bono Connect will soon be organizing a practical workshop on the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

The GDPR is the European privacy law that regulates how organizations may collect, use, store, and protect personal data. The law applies to all organizations that process personal data of individuals in the European Union, including foundations, NGOs, and other civil society organizations.

Many organizations work with personal data daily, for example, in:

• managing mailing lists
• organizing events
• registering volunteers or participants
• communicating with partners and donors

During this workshop, legal experts will guide participants through the key elements of the GDPR and their practical implications. The session focuses on strengthening knowledge within civil society organizations and provides an opportunity to ask questions about specific situations.
